Week 20 my weekend with DG

Friday evening I caught the train to Manchester and DG picked me up from the station. She took me back to her new flat which is absolutely lovely. She has gone for a sliver and black colour scheme which looks great.

After chatting for a while, we went to the local pub which was really nice. We stayed for a couple of drinks. We chatted loads then went home to order pizza.

DG has a new hamster which is a total cutie and she loves buying new houses and toys for him. He is her little baby.

Saturday we caught the bus into town and DG had her hair done. I have included before and after pics. She went blond and cos she was dark before, she had to have the bleach on for ages. It looks cool though. She is gonna get it even lighter next time.

Then we went for DG to get her tattoo. I have included a pic but you can't really see the writing as it is very small. The tattooist said it was the smallest writing he has ever done. It is latin.

After getting something to eat and coming back to DG's, we went to the flat of her friends who live opposite her. They were really lovely. We chatted for a bit then it was time for DG to drive me back to the station.

I got home yesterday evening and vegged out.

I had a great time. Her flat is beautiful and her hamster is gorgeous.

I hope you like the pics. None of me cos you know what I look like.

I love her new hair! I've been thinking of going blonde myself, but my hair grows really quickly so I suspect the upkeep on that would make me crazy, and broke :/ Maybe just a blonde chunk at the front...

Thanks for posting these piccies, Miss T! I'm glad you had a good visit :)

Thank you RW sweetie. You are welcome. I know you have great hair and like to experiment. I saw the hairdo I want but it'll cost £150 so I'd have to save up big time.

That's a lot of money for a hairdo! Is it a cut and a colour? What is it you want to have done?

A cut with some layers and some colour. Still lond but slightly blonder. It is at Toni&guy and the stylists are some of the best in Europe.

They'd do a great job then :)

I tend to spend more on my hair than the rest of my friends. But I always go to a good stylist. I figure it's worth it.

MissTottenham said...

Yeah, you want it doing properly. I'd hate for it to be done wrong.

Well, I guess it would grow back eventually. But I wouldn't want to wait that long!

It took me years to find someone who does my hair right. I have found in the past that hairdressers have a tendency to be timid with cuts. I guess they're afraid of upsetting the customer if they do something too drastic. But I like drastic! I really dislike going in for a new look and coming away with a slightly shorter version of what I came in with :/ That used to happen a lot.

Yeah, I know what you mean. And I'm scared cos I've never had my hair cut. It would still be straight and long but more shaped.

Are you thinking of getting it done sometime this year?

You know, when I was living in Nova Scotia & I had finished university and was just about to move away, I went in for a haircut. I couldn't really afford to get anything professionally done with it while I was a student, so it had gotten kind of long and shaggy. I wanted a short cut. The hairdresser I went to actually sat down with me and had a long talk with me (ie: "Did you just break up with your boyfriend?" Apparantly, a lot of women get their haircut after a breakup, then regret it) before she'd agree to do it. I found that very odd. I mean, even if I ended up not liking my hair short, it's not like I'd blame her for that. And besides, it's just hair, it'll grow back.

Wow, most women do their hair after break ups. I guess that's right, after life changing things anyway.

I want it done soon. I think it'll be good cos even if it starts to grow, it will keep the shape and I won't be stuck having to keep geting it done regularly. Maybe just topping up the highlights.

Yeah, I want it done as soon as I have the money. I will go back to Manchester to get it done.

You are braver than me though with the it'll grow back attitude. I've never had mine short so if it went too short I'd be mortified.

I used to cut my hair myself when I was a teen. Er... I didn't really do a very good job, but it always grew out so I never worried about it.

When it comes to colour, though, these days I always get my hairdresser to do it. I used to do it myself but then I would get a colour build-up & no new colour would take, except on the roots. I had to get all the layers of build-up professioanlly stripped from my hair last spring.

Hey great pics missT I think the blonde looks lovely.

what does the tattoo translate to? If she doesn't mind you saying, it's really small writing but the guy has done a great neat job!

MissTottenham said...

Yeah, the colour is defo better when done professionally. I've done mine myself when I had it purple etc, but not when I want normal colour.

MissTottenham said...

Hi Ergo, it says something like, you are forever in my heart.
