YIPPEE

I did it. I managed to run the whole beep test on the garden in stifling heat. If I can keep this up for the next 7 weeks (that's how long till I have to do it again), surely I'll get it done this time.

And, I'm lifting more weights than I need to be able to do. Fingers crossed, I might pass it this time.

I've got to, It's my last chance.

I wish you the best of luck with the weights Miss T. You can do it!

About your noisy neighbor, I hope it doesn't make you feel bad that I still find it kinda humorous, it's like reading something that only happens in movies. I hope the policeman will help you with him ^_^

Good luck, Miss T, I know you can do it! ^_^ Incidentally, This week I started doing 45 minutes of pilates a day. I started it up as I injured my foot on the weekend and needed to find some kind of keep fit thingie I could do at home while my foot healed. I am loving the pilates, and will keep it up even when my foot is tickety-boo again.

Also, I am thinking of a trip to Egypt in 2011. Any tips?

Hiya BC sweetie. I too hope the police can help.

The idiot went out after the rain to cut his wet grass with an electric lawnmower and I stood at the window to see if he'd electrocute himself, alas, no light show.

Hiya RW sweetie. Good luck with pilates, I've never tried that but it sounds fun.

As for the Egypt trip, defo do the nile cruise. Cairo is ok but it only really has the pyramids, sphinx and the museum, which are great but if you want value for money the nile cruise goes to many sites and temples plus you can book extras along the way. You only really need a couple of days to do Cairo but the nile cruise is a great way to spend a week.

Go for it, you won't regret it. Just sneak me in your case.

Thanks for the tips :) I am tentatively planning my trip for autumn 2011, but that may be postponed as I don't want to do the trip alone, and as of yet I do not have a travel companion. I may end up just going as part of a tour group, but if I do that I will have to stick to someone else's agenda, and that's not my ideal way to travel.

The four-day Luxor to Aswan Nile cruise is definitely on my agenda. I do want to visit Cairo, to see the pyramids and sphinx and the markets, but I think if I stayed there too long the noise and bustle would get to me. How about Alexandria? Did you go there? How many days were you in Egypt when you went?

That actually made me giggle out loud! Miss T, you are naughty!

Re: Egypt:

Do you recommend proficiency in another language before visiting, or is English widely spoken and understood there?

Hiya RW.

Well, here goes *deep breathe*

Everyone speaks English and they make you laugh with all the catchphrases they know from our adverts. Don't worry about that. The money is easy to understand.

We went on the week long Nile cruise the first time we went. Then knowing we wanted to do the pyramids, the next year we went to cyprus (cheap hol) they did the three day mini cruise to Cairo, you don't need more than three days. That made it a whole lot cheaper cos it's expensive to go to Cairo from the UK but not to Cyprus and the mimi cruise was cheap too. Dunno if it would just my cheaper for you to go straight there.

If you do end up going alone, the nile cruise is for you cos all the excursions are planned though you can pay for extras, you do get wander around on your own time too, but you are all a gang and make friends and have such a laugh. Having done the nile cruise, it's a holiday I would be happy to do alone.

I hope that helps.

Thank you muchly for all the info :) I am actually feeling all right now about doing Egypt as a solitary traveler, though as it's another 2+ years before I plan on going I'm hoping to find a travelling companion. I told my co-worker/supervisor about it today, and she's always been keen on going to Egypt. So who knows? Maybe I can convince her.

I eventually want to travel around Africa, either by motorbike (Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman have inspired me!) or by local transport. If I do it by motorbike, I will first have to learn how to ride one (!) and would want to do that with a group of people. That's a long-term plan though. Holidaying in Egypt is the short-term plan.

Did you do any shopping while you were there?

Actually, I was surprised at how much cheaper it is to fly from Toronto to Cairo than I was expecting it to be. It's less than $200 more than what it would cost me to fly out to the Canadian west coast and back. And accommodations in Cairo, from what I've found, are quite reasonable..

Hi Miss T., thank you so much for your kind words at my blog. I took Logan to my parents home and we took him to a cemetary close to their house for burial. It's so peaceful there, in the woods; a very pretty place. He passed away in my arms, and I know he knew I was there. I know to some it seems odd to be attached to a pet, but if you don't have kids, and especially when you've had the little fur babies for a long time (Logan was 7 years old, and I got him when he was 2) it hurts to seem them go.

How are you doing? I keep missing you at Mayos and Sevens. Have your wounds healed? What's happening with the neighbor? I read the bit about you thinking "that would be a good place to hide a body" and went 0_o! First thought was your neighbor! LOL

Love you dearly,

Lisa

Hey Miss T! Fingers crossed to ya! Sounds like you are doing great! You really deserve to serve! (Uh, excuse my lameass pun there..) I just wanted to drop you a hello as I missed ya at Mayo's! It sounds like you are doing much better than last we spoke, so I really hope that continues! No more open gaping wounds, right? ;p Love to ya Miss T!

Oh yea! And the KING (Tut that is!) is in my neck of the woods now! I'm hoping to meet him soon, shall I send him ya love?? ;p

Best of luck with the run, Officer T! ;p <33

Hiya RW.

I hope you do go to Egypt even if you have to go alone. The people there are so nice you won't ever feel alone. But I hope more that your friend agrees to go with you.

I'm glad that it is cheap enough for you to get to Cairo. It's strange how it's cheaper from some places than others.

As for the shopping, yup I did and the bartering is fun. If it is souvenirs you are after, you will find the sellers camp themselves at all the tourist sites so you don't have to go looking.

On the nile cruise, they take you to some shopping places and you can order things you want like perfume, carved items, papyrus items etc and they will be delivered back to the boat later that evening so you don't even have to carry shopping around. Cool eh?

Hiya L sweetie, I'm so glad that you found a nice resting place for Logan. I don't think you are silly being so attached to animals, they are members of your family. Our cockatiel is over 20 now, we will be heartbroken when he goes.

I'm glad that logan was with you at the end, I'm sure he gained comfort from that.

I'm doing well, I still have my leg wound after 10 weeks but it doesn'e hurt and I can now go in the bath with it. I'm not wearing any dressings now so it's healed to that extent but it's still bloody there hahaha!

Neighbour is still being an arse and I'm waiting for my police visit to form a plan of action. I hope they don't take too long.

Love you loads xxxx

Hiya Lewis sweetie, how's you's?
It's lovely to see you. I seem to be missing everyone at mayos these days. Either I can't stay long for whatever reason or it's just the timezones. Oh well, It's just nice to read you guys.

Yayness, you gotta go see Tut and tell him I said hi. He's a friendly enough chap, I'm sure you'll like hi when you meet him
^_^
