I'm so sorry for your loss. What a great generation to which your Dot belonged. A generation that knew of honor, sacrifice, hard work, struggle, humility and humanity. A generation who looked down their noses at no one. A generation whose members appreciated all hard work and knew the true meaning of sacrifice.
They felt entitled to nothing and blessed by everything their work provided...
She and her teachings live on through you, Caz. For all the things she had to teach, I have no doubt you learned and practice each day of your life.

I'm so sorry for your loss.
It doesn't matter whether she was blood or not. What matters is how you felt about her.
Like what Wendy said, Dot was from an exemplary generation. They kind of saw the world before and after and had unique thoughts on it all.
They know the meaning of hard work and sacrifice. And still managed to keep a stiff upper lip.
I'm sorry for your loss, but am glad you met a gem like Dot.

The funeral is on Thursday and I'm sure there will be lots of tears, she was a much loved lady.
I was thinking, maybe Dot has some other friends who need adopting?
It's got to be hard when you get to be that age and you start to watch your friends pass on.

You know Jenn, I'd love to adopt another granny. There were some lovely old ladies at her funeral who live at the same sheltered housing complex. Maybe I could adopt one of those. Good suggestion sweetie.

I love a good soak anywhere. If I had my druthers, I'd even make the water so hot it made my skin pink.
If you have the time, adopt another granny. Sometimes it seems like the elderly get abandoned as much as children when they get pesky with needs and stuff.
Hey, maybe you can even put a sign up in your neighborhood like a "Lost" or "Wanted" poster?
