Here's to new years and new starts ^_^

You are right RW, antibiotics are wonderful things.

I hope you are still doing well after your op sweetie.

It all seems to be healing well, thank you for asking :) Got my stitches out on Monday. The wound is still a little... "crusty", shall we say, but there's no pain at all.

I'm so glad RW that you are healing well. It must be a weight off your mind to finally get that sorted.

Hey RW - I'm glad to hear you're up and about feeling better. Once your scar has healed to new skin, try something called Calendula gel. It will help minimize the scarring.

Unless you want the scar. Because scars can look pretty bad ass. :)

MissT: Snowblowers ARE a lot of fun. The weather man tells me that I might have use of it again next week. They're expecting another blizzard in my neighborhood.

Thank you, Miss T :) Though there is hard tissue under my skin just above the incision. Scar tissue, methinks. I've been in touch with the surgeon and she thinks it's nothing to worry about. You can't see it, but you can definitely feel it. It's more noticeable in the mornings after I've been sleeping, so maybe there's some sort of fluid build-up there that disperses during the course of the day when I'm active. Hopefully it'll resolve itself once the incision totally heals.

How have you been?

Thank you, Jennicula :) I've not heard of that stuff, but I will definitely look for it.

This goes with the plan I have of telling everyone I got the scar in a bar fight ;)

Jenn, I hope your snowblower did the job. Are you still having arctic weather?

RW, I hope the gel Jenn mentioned works. Here in the UK we have something called bio oil which is supposed to help with minimizing scarring. There are products out there and I hope you find one that helps.

RW: The boy has 4 tiny scars on the side of his chest and on his back. He got it from breathing tubes when he was younger. When he went to camp he told everybody he was attacked by a shark. :)

MissT: Out of power since Wednesday. MIGHT get it back tonight or Sunday.

Snowblowers don't work on ice.

Thanks :) It is actually more the internal scarring that I'm concerned about rather than the external. External seems to be healing up well, but I can feel a noticeable hard mass under the skin just above the incision. I'm assuming it's scar tissue, but who knows! My surgeon doesn't think it's anything to worry about, but I'm going to keep an eye on it just in case it's something else, like a sign of infection or something.

Awesome!

Attacked by a shark, I love that Jenn, what a character.

Oh no, power outage. I hope you still have enough heat. Sad news about the limitations of snow blowers.

RW, I hope that your hard lump settles down. It is quite soon after the op, so I hope soon it starts to soften up more. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about but I know that you'd rather it wasn't there at all.

Happy Valentines Day! Hope you have some nice chocolates and pizza to keep you warm and happy!

We were without power for 4 1/2 days. Which sucks unbelievably. But that was last week.

We were lucky, we didn't get any damage other than the neighbors pine tree which fell across my yard. It hit the grass, so no damage I can't fix in the spring.

We had another snow storm Wednesday into Thursday and got another foot of snow. Believe it or not, we're to get more tonight.

I know I've said this before (many, many times) that I hate Spring, but I actually am looking forward to it this year. It's never happened to me before.

This year I am so done with winter.

Last night when it started snowing again, all I could do was glare at the flakes and shake my fists in vain.

Damn you old man winter!

Lots of snow here too, alas. I am soooo ready for winter to be over.

Thank you, Miss T :) It still feels the same & has not gotten any worse, which makes me believe it is just accumulation of scar tissue rather than an infection or something. Scar tissue I can live with.

I am so ready for winter to be gone.

More snow predicted for tonight. I fear that the mounds (which are taller than me now) will never melt.

I complain now, but I'm sure in 6 months I'll be bitching about how hot it is. :)

OMG Jenn, 4 and a half days without power, you must have been freezing. I really hope this snow stops for you, how much more can there be? Just take care sweetie.

As for the scar tissue RW, defo get some of the oils me and Jenn mentioned cos they are supposed to make scar tissue go more flat. It can't hurt to try sweetie.

Will do. Thanks :)
