Santa did bring me stretchy, cookie-accommodating pants - thank God!
Did you get snow for New Years? It was crisp and clear in my neck of the woods.
Happy, Happy new year my friend. May it be filled with love and laughter, health and happiness.
Yay for Santa and the cookie accommodating pants!!!!!!!
Yeah, our snow came on boxing day and lasted till New Year. It was lovely because I didn't have to go out in it. It did look pretty.
Happy New Year sweetie, I hope it brings you everything you hope for xxxx
Today it's snowing, sleeting, freezing raining, and raining. Driving was a bit tricky this morning - I had to go out in it to work.
Hoping it's not doing all that crap tomorrow.
Happy New Year to you too and all the well wishes I could gather to you and your mum.
love looking at the old photo albums. they don't even have to be from my family. I love looking at the clothes and cars.
I was lucky, my parents (mother most likely) kept a great chronological and labelled library. I know who is in each picture, where we were, and what year it was. Sometimes I even know what we were doing.
Willie's family kept pictures scattered all over the place. Books, drawers, shoe boxes, envelopes and baggies. Most are missing years and who knows who's actually in the picture or where they were.
We've been calling his parents a lot trying to get the scoop.
What struck me the most is that here's a moment in time where you took the time to take the picture but didn't make any notes on them. Like "How could we ever forget who's in this picture." Yet, today they have no idea who these people are or what they were doing or even what year it was. It's made our cataloging a bit tricky at times. We can definitely put into 3 categories. Before his sister, after his sister (5 year gap), after they moved.
Other than that it's a real crap-shoot.
That's great that your family was so organised with your pictures.
I must admit that it would have been good if we had put dates on ours, but we never did. I'm not quite at the stage where I don't remember the people in them.
What was nice when Dad died was that people we had not seen in years wrote to us and sent photos we had never even seen before, photos of Dad as a youngster. They were lovely to see.
xxx
Willie's recently passed uncle's family (get that?) didn't have many pictures, so we've been finding all sorts of pictures of when he was in the Navy with Willie's father.
We've forwarded them on to the cousins, and they've been so appreciative. Most of the pictures they've never seen before, so it was nice to give them that. Some pictures we have stories to share and some are just so funny because they're odd pictures with no story - so you wonder what the hell they were doing!
We're working on my family pictures and scanning a few that missed the first round. It's been good. Next on the list is pictures of the boy. He was born before digital cameras, so we have a bunch. It's a great winter project.
That's great that you've been able to pass pictures on. I bet they were so grateful.
What a great project. I bet you have some laughs along the way.
Scotland was awesome, thanks for asking :)
How's life treating you these days?
Hiya RW sweetie, how are you?
I'm bumbling along. Looking forward to my holiday, not too long now. Egypt, here I come.

Oooo! When are you going?
I'm so glad you had a great time in Scotland. How did you handle the accent?
Funny you should mention that. Mostly I understood people just fine, though there were a couple of memorable moments when I couldn't for the life of me decipher what they were saying.
LOL, that Scottish accent can get a little strong at times.
I'm off at the end of March, not long now.
Did you have a Happy Birthday?
Did you eat pizza and cake?
I hope so.
I celebrated your birthday by eating chocolate :)
