This is the face I pull at her when I say "cheese". She has mastered it well.

What a good girl!
It took me two full weeks to digest all the bad news and work on not killing someone. After that I had questions. As it turns out, I "misunderstood" one detail. Probably because I wa so angry I stopped listening. I used my feeling words and repeated the convo back to the other person. Then she understood where I was coming from.
It still doesn't change the outcome but we have a better understanding - which is better than me wishing I drove the karma bus to run over her dogma.
This too shall pass.
And then I see Amelie' 'cheese' and it's all good.
I guess st nick will be good to her this year 😀
Aw bless, I'm so glad Amelie's pic cheered you up. I always smile when she pulls that face.
I'm also so glad that you both have a better understanding. One step at a time I guess. I hope things get better between you.
What a cutie pie.
So sorry to hear she's ill. I heard that ice-cream can make your throat feel better.
:)
She's doing well now. I think the *ahem medicinal ice cream worked a treat. She's still coughing at times but she's good in herself. She went to her playgroup Christmas party yesterday. She's the youngest there but she didn't cry at Father Christmas, not like others I may add. So proud of her.
Glad to hear the ice cream worked. It usually works for me too :)
We have some kind of dreck ripping through the office the last two weeks. It's all I can do to avoid everybody. I feel funny wearing a mask at work, so I just hose myself down with hand sanitizer. God, my hands are chapped from that shit.
Good for her not crying at old St. Nick. The boy was not interested in getting near him. I have one picture of him kind of on his lap. It's an action shot of him bolting away and the "elf" trying to catch him. It's awesome.
When the boy got older, he was willing to wave to Santa from afar and we did mail his wish list but he was not into sitting on some strange dude's lap. When he was even more aware, he had this real concern that Santa was roaming around the house while he slept and that freaked him out.
Willie and I had to tell him that Santa only came in the front door and went out the side door and that he went nowhere near him on the 2nd floor. Willie even put glitter on the bottom of his shoes so you could see Santa's tracks through the house.
Oh the lies we're willing to tell our children.
Well, that's it for me today. I'm glad Amelie is feeling better. Being sick is no fun and sick toddlers are even less fun.
Give that girl a snog and a raspberry for me.
Hugs
LOL I love the boys Santa wariness. That picture sounds bloody brilliant. I also love how he is so house wary, I wouldn't like a strange dude walking round my home while I'm asleep, even if he leaves presents, so I'm with the boy on that one.
Apparently, when I was little, I didn't like the idea of a stranger roaming the house. I once had a dream and went sleepwalking, the only time in my life. I dreamt a burglar had broken in but instead of waking mum or dad and raising the alarm, I protected the most important thing and moved all my toys into the bathtub. Mum woke up and caught me in the act of filling the tub with toys.
Kids eh?
Have a fantastic Christmas Jenn, love to all yours and I hope you all get loads of pressies xxxxx
I did Grinch it up a bit. It was wonderful.
I took a week off and took care of me and mine. Unplugged from the world.
I slept, ate, slept, read books, slept some more and ate cookies.
A few people stopped by and I did wind up going to a Christmas party. It was an intimate affair and there were no cameras. Lots of Sangria.
We saw the boy's friends - and that was great. They hadn't really hung out at the house since before Bear. Apparently they're all coming over tonight for a game-a-thon. Guess I'm making pancakes tomorrow. :)
I'm glad that Amelie is doing better. Babies and colds are just no fun. But, on a bright note, they do tend to bouce back quicker than us old fogies. Bless her. I hope Father Christmas was good to her! Next year will be even more fun for her and the year after? Watch out. I loved seeing Christmas through the eyes of my child. You forget how magical it was for you until you see them dancing in front of the tree.
The boy and Santa. Still makes me laugh. The things parents are willing to do to keep up with the lie. You know, he believed for a long time. Longer than the other kids. I'm glad. You're an adult for so much of your life, why not have your childhood a bit longer? Hang on to that innocence for another 10 minutes before you get jaded and cranky.
My MIL killed the Easter Bunny story when he was 5, so I was thrilled that Santa hung around for so long.
I love your story about sleepwalking. I don't think I've ever done it, but had a friend who did it all the time. You had to lock your door if he slept over. I woke up one time and he was pushing on my wall trying to get out. He said the sliding doors wouldn't open. After that the door got locked. And he was in his 20s!
Did you have a lovely Crimbo? Apparently I was on Santa's "Nice" list, so that was good!
I'm back to work today (boo) and my pile of "to do" is creeping ever higher, so I must go.
TTFN!
Your Christmas sounds lovely. Everyone needs me time.
sounds like the perfect party, lots of sangria but no cameras LOL.
Amelie had a great day with loads to open. She was so good at dinner time cos she usually doesn't like being in the high chair, but she had her own food in her dish and she was allowed to eat it all herself and get it everywhere. She likes to feed herself but if you let her have the spoon there would be mess everywhere so the fact that she was just given the dish of grown up food to do what she wanted with was great for her. She actually ate it really well and had loads of veg.
They took er shopping for her first measured shoes yesterday and she loves them. Some little pink leather ones. She's walking great now. the difference from a week ago is amazing. I think I made her walk better cos I saw these bright yellow willies with a face on the toes just like one of her cartoon characters Bing wears. Well, she loves them more than her toys and she insists on having them on so she can stomp through her hallway. She's come on loads since I got them for her last week.
Bummer about being back at work. I hope today wasn't too bad for you. I don't go back until the 10th, brilliant haha!
I shall be thinking of you as I sit on my arse watching tv and continue to eat sweets.
xxxxxxxx
