Hello my special sunshine!
I (again) have little time to pop in, but I wanted to pop by here.
I love the pictures!
Both girls are adorable.
Potty training is literally a pain in the ass if the children aren't mentally ready for it. My one girlfriend had both her kids trained by 18 months and really had no trouble telling me all about it and how brilliant her kids were. That whole competition thing gets nasty at times. Today she doesn't necessarily brag about those two kids. She had 2 newer ones whom she likes better. She brags about them now. Little Madam will eventually do it when she's damn well ready. Little Madam 2 will probably do it earlier than #1 because she's going to want to be like her big sis!
I can't believe how big they are both getting. Where does the time go? #2 looks so much like #1 at that age. When you look at family albums, do they look like either you or your sis when you were that age?
We have a picture of the boy at about 3 and of Willie and they are carbon copies. It's freaky.
Well, that's it for the moment.
♥♥♥ <- got that for you!
Hiya Gorgeous one!
She is still not keen on the potty, if we get her to sit on it, she will wee but she won't tell you she needs to wee before hand. She will go on the potty when we remind her to keep trying, but she never tells us she needs to go. She's never managed a full poop on there even though she tries but then she gets bored of trying.
New little one is all about the food, she looks at our food like she is in love, she is eating soft things like these baby wafers but really she just gets it all down her. She just loves that she's given something she can put in her mouth. She's 7 months old now and her first tooth is coming through and she hasn't made any fuss, but if you get within a metre of her, your finger is going in her mouth. her fave thing is grabbing handfuls of hair and pulling with all the strength in the world.
They do look exactly the same as each other. My sis sent me a picture of Eloise in the same sleep suit Amelie used to wear and amazingly, she is doing the exact same pose. You flick from one to the other and you cannot tell them apart, it's like witchcraft. Hard to believe the pictures were taken three years apart.
In fact, I have added them to this blog. See if you can guess which is which.
Neither of them has looked like me and sis but they both do l0ok like Neil's mum LOL.
Talk to you soon, and get your guessing cap on xxx
Hi Sunshine!
How's the potty training going?
I love when you are introducing foods to babies. The looks on their faces when they love something, and even better, when they really don't!
I can't believe she's getting teeth already. I cried when the boy got teeth. I loved his little gummy smile. He always got his teeth in pairs. 2 here, 2 there, 4 there. I was lucky. He wasn't slobbery, but he was good and cranky with doubles coming in.
When the boy was born he looked like Willie's dad. Then he only looked like Willie. I was the vessel. Every now and then I would catch a glimpse of me in there. Now people tell me he looks like me but I don't see it.
Let me go check the pics.
Ok, that was really difficult.
I say, first of all, I love the picture of #2 and the blue bow in her hair. I love when little girls have the bows in their hair. Even when they barely have enough hair to hold a bow.
My guess is that Picture #1 is Eloise and #2 is Amelie.
When the boy was Eloise's age, he was still on the bottle. My hair was very long then. I would feed him and he would grab my hair and put it under his nose like he had a blonde mustache. He would sniff it and sniff it until he was done eating.
He loved my hair. He loved to pull it and play with it. Chew on it.
Then one day I chopped it all off and he cried and cried and cried.
LOL Jenn on the sniffing your hair. Eloise loves grabbing mine but only so she can hear me howl "ouch". She is such a hair grabber. Her hair is getting in her face now, it's longer on the front than the back.
Sis has started calling her "my little seal" cos when she puts her on her back in the cot, she flips onto her front, props herself up on her hands and starts going "Ooo, Ooo, Ooo" to get people to wake up.
She also loves blowing raspberry's cos she can join in with what she thinks is a conversation that way.
Nice try but the piccies are the other way round, Amelie first and Eloise second. hard to tell though isn't it?
We were laughing at Eloise the other day cos she has 4 ickle teeth and she was eating a little baby corn snack. We were laughing at her crunching it with her teeny teeth.
I hope the boy is happy with your hair style choice now. Amelie would also cry if me or sis cut our hair. She often asks my mum why she doesn't have long hair. For some reason Amelie's latest thing is that she hates eyebrows?????
xxxxx
I'm still hankering for the beach. This is the best time for beach going. Not crowded and still warm. I'll probably get there again in the next few weeks again.
I'm always amazed with the larger women who are comfortable in the bikinis. I envy their confidence. As for the men, I'm not much for gorillas in bathing suits.
The boy grew a mullet. By the time he was 2, we had to chop his curls off because people were telling us what a cute girl we had. We only had to chop the back.
I love when the kids flop around to move.
The pics were so hard to tell. I'm 0 for 0!
The boy didn't like eyeglasses. He would try to rip them off peoples faces. It was pretty funny.
The boy can handle my hair. It's getting longer again. Finally below my shoulders. I think he likes it long but Willie wants it short. I prefer long though.
I'm with you Jenn, I wish I could not care about what I wore or looked like, it would make my life so much easier. The gorilla's in bathing suits would make me puke though, my hair phobia would not stand it.
LOL a mullet, sometimes though, it is hard to tell if little ones are girls or boys with long hair. I'm sure I've made that mistake before.
I can understand how a little one would not like glasses but Amelie's eyebrow hatred is bizaare. It all stemmed from one of Sis's cross stitches. She has made a big dragon one for a friend and Amelie is fixated with it's eyebrows, she hates them. Now she hates all eyebrows and asks why we have to have them.
I agree with you, I have always had long hair and when due to my underactive thyroid, it went crappy and I chopping it into a bob, I couldn't wait for it to grow back. I found the weirdest part was washing it. I kept expecting my hands to have to rub it down further to the ends but it just ended unexpectedly.
I'm glad you have got it to a length you like.
The month of September is the only month that I put up the lyrics to a song. Typically it’s the one song I play the most or that I’m gravitating towards for some reason. This one is beautiful.
I also wish I had the confidence to strut on the beach in a bikini, but alas, I’m not and therefore cover up so as to not subject myself or anyone else to my insecurities.
It’s so funny what kids gravitate to or run from. I hope she doesn’t become an eyebrow super-plucker. That’s a tragic look.
I’m working on growing out my hair and for whatever reason it’s coming back slowly. It’s pretty healthy though. Thinner than when I was younger, but I’ve always had a lot of really fine hair. It finally made it below my shoulders. It is funny when you chop a bunch off and then shampoo for the first time. I always use too much and it takes forever to rinse it out. My hair is so fine I can’t condition it too often or I wind up looking homeless.
We’re having an Indian Summer here. I know that’s politically incorrect, but I always thought the term was pretty and somewhat romantic. What it really is is global warming and that’s not really a pretty term or romantic. I’m still in shorts and tank tops. Fortunately it’s not as humid. I’m sure Autumn will be short and then BLAM we’ll be in Winter again.
I also wish I had the confidence to strut on the beach in a bikini, but alas, I’m not and therefore cover up so as to not subject myself or anyone else to my insecurities.
I'm like you Jenn. My swimsuit is a lycra version of those half wetsuits. It covers my upper arms and my bum and thighs and that's as much as people are seeing of me.
It’s so funny what kids gravitate to or run from. I hope she doesn’t become an eyebrow super-plucker. That’s a tragic look.
That's a horrific look lol.
My hair is so fine I can’t condition it too often or I wind up looking homeless.
LOL, that's too funny. Mine has always been so fine the slides just slip out. Now with my underactive thyroid, it's crappy, like straw. I'm sure Eloise loves tugging on it cos she thinks it's candy floss. I'm not kidding, her eyes light up when she see's it and she makes a beeline for a good tug.
I wish we were having an Indian summer. We have had a week of rain. I am made up with cold, we all are, it's like a cacophony of coughing.
On that soggy note, have a great week.
Hello there!
My hair is also very fine. I have a difficult time keeping clips in it because like you, they slip out. When the boy was young my hair was very long and much thicker. He loved playing with and in my hair. I didn't mind so much. Then one day I cut it and he cried and cried and hated it.
It's actually not so bad out today. It is getting colder at night, but we haven't had any freezing - yet! It's supposed to rain on Sunday but be nice tomorrow. So I've got to get my outside work done in one day.
I'm sorry you have a cold. I had one last weekend. Not real bad though. At first I thought is was allergies.
Crap, I've gotta go.
I just wanted to pop by and say "hi" and "I've thought of you and miss our conversations - but it's totally my fault."
Hi Jenn, nice to see you. I hope that the weather is not too cold. I thought it'd be really cold when I got home from Spain but it's actually not bad. Mind you, it's not really been very cold for the last two Halloween years either.
We took little madam around a few of the neighbours trick or treating, then we just had Halloween snacks at ours. She looked great in her witches hat and dress, though she pretended to be a cat dressed as a witch.
Yes, that damn cold lasted three bloody weeks but finally vanished in Spain. Thank goodness for a sunny holiday.
Back to reality now though and back to work this week cos I didn't win the lottery when I was away.
It's nice to get back to chats with you though, I wouldn't stop that even if I were rich. At least then we could have a chat in person.
Fingers crossed.
I love the seasons with the exception of Spring. Late spring heading into summer is ok, but early spring pisses me off. The weather has been below freezing most of the week, but is supposed to warm up this weekend. That's good because I have a few things I need to do before the real winter shows up.
I heard that your neck of the woods had terrible rain in the last few weeks. I hope you're ok and stayed dry. For Halloween we had a tornado warning late at night. It scared the crap out of me. I got the boy down to the basement and not two minutes later the storm roared over and around my house. I was shaking I was so scared. Let me tell you something, I've always thought that in an emergency and I had to flee, that I would grab my child, my pet, pictures and maybe jewelry. Girl, I grabbed my kid and ran.
I can also say that I now sympathize with those people you see on television from Oklahoma who are in t-shirts and no pants being interviewed by the weather channel because a tornado sucked their house up into the sky because I was dressed exactly as they were. Sleep shirt and undies. That's it.
Little Madam Deux is already 10 months? She'll be walking in no time!
The slop in jars is pretty nasty. Before I gave the boy any of that food I'd try it myself. Anything that I didn't like, I didn't give to him. He didn't have meat until he was over a year old. That jarred meat is disgusting.
I had a little baby food blender that I used to make the boy food. But his real first food he got was Chinese chicken lo mein. It was all squishy and soft for him and he loved it. I think I've seen the dummy but we never used one like that.
I love the smiles with the little teeth coming in. Boy are those things sharp!
and welcome back! I hope your trip was lovely!
Thank you Jenn, my hols were fantastic.
Bloody hell though, a tornado???? Wow, I bet that was so scary and I'm not surprised you just grabbed your babba and ran. I don't think anyone is ever dressed for a tornado LOL. Wow, I'm so glad you are all ok. Over here, if the wind were to blow a leaf into your face, that would be the worst wind ever and we'd have to tell everyone about our crazy experience. We did have a very bad gale back in the 80s which was blowing high sided lorry's over, but you can't really compare wind with a tornado.
Yeah, that baby food is rank. She loves having the cheese in her dummy, she can really get her teeth into it because any solid food we give her are teeny amounts. She is loving the V small bits of cheese I give her from my garlic bread on pizza day. Oh yes, she loves that. LOL it sounds like all she eats is cheese.
She is pulling herself up on me mostly and standing for ages but she can't manage to move, it's just balancing at the moment, but she loves the round of applause she gets when she does it.
Big little madam came with my mum to meet me in the Chapeltown (it's the next place on from High Green and has more shops), and after some shopping, we caught the bus home. A little old lady at the bus stop told us how beautiful she is. When the bus came it was packed and Amelie had to sit next to a lady on the seat behind me. The lady was lovely and kept saying how beautiful she is. People, tell us something we don't know LOL. She is beautiful and I tell her every day.
I'll have to get round to making a new post with new pics but not sure if I'll be arsed to before Christmas LOL.
Well MissT, I was literally shaking while waiting in my basement for the storm to pass. I hadn’t been scared like that in a long time. I don’t know how some people can live in those parts of the world where tornadoes are a common occurrence. It was way too intense for me. I guess with this global warming, storms are going to get worse and worse. It’s been windier than normal the past few weeks too. Big and gusty. I don’t mind wind here and there, but when it’s been raining for so long and then it gets windy I’m always afraid of trees falling down and crushing people (me) and cars (mine).
Winter is upon us. I’ve had a bit of snow already. Nothing that amounted to much (if anything) but they forecasted a bunch and everybody got into a tizzy.
How can you not love cheese? I think you’ve started Little Madam 2 on the right path. All that cheese will help build her bones with vitamin D and her legs will get strong so she can walk. It won’t be long now!
Little Madam 1 is a beautiful child! I think 2 looks so much like her too. I think (from the pictures) 1 has a twinkle behind her eyes that speaks of innocence and fun and that makes anybody that more attractive. 2 will probably be much the same way.
I’d love new pictures but totally understand about the timing of things. Doesn’t it seem like Christmas was so far away in October and now it’s like a freight train screaming towards us? I can honestly say I’m not ready for Christmas this year. Am I ever?
Your tornado experience sounds so scary, I know what you mean about not being able to live where they are frequent, why on earth do people do that???? The mind boggles.
I am going to put a new blog up with some new pictures. You are right, little madam 1 does have that sparkle in her eyes, usually before she does something really cheeky to make us laugh. Little madam 2 is developing a brilliant personality. As soon as I pick her up, she just bounces on my hip, she's so bouncy. She is making me laugh because now she will push past mum and dad to get to me.
We took her to see little madam in her first nativity on Wednesday, her class were all stars with white t-shirts with a big star stuck on the front. Amelie hated her star, she said it was causing her problems. She hates singing so put in minimal effort and when the stars got on stage and she saw us waving, she shrugged her shoulders and gave the biggest sigh, it was hilarious, she hated every minute. Being forced to sing is hateful for her. Little madam 2 loved it, for every song she bounced on my knee and jangled the house keys.
We haven't had any snow here yet, just plenty of miserable grey rain, at this point we'd all welcome some snow.
The new piccies are of little madam holding one of her faves and mum's most hated toys. It just throws out disco lights and bad europop music. She looks happy cos mum was hoping it was broke but I changed the batteries and it was louder than ever. Little madam 2 looks chuffed to pieces cos she had just refused her high chair and her mum let her use the booster seat, she's growing up fast.
So, I'll pop those on a new post. If I don't see you in blogland before Christmas, I hope you all have a brilliant one with lots of rest and not too many houseguests.
