i'm glad you liked my janus blog -- i thought it would be a nice thing to have for the new year.
i have to admit i have a more than passing acquaintance with egyptian lore, you know. one of my favorite periods of history is 13th c. bce -- although i am more interested in the greek and minoans, but the egyptians were such an important culture then that you can't help but learn about them too. in a way, you and i are like neighbors! *grin*
is that first hieroglyphic derived from a person raising their arms, or from something like hathor's headdress? it's cool-looking, in either case. (i like the idea that "happy new year" depicts a joyful person and a string instrument...of course that's just what they look like to me! lol)
