So, this week we had a lovely BBQ after work on Tuesday. It was in honour of our crazy little Spanish teacher who has sadly and tearfully left us to go do some research in France for a year. There were not many dry eyes in the house. We will miss her dearly.
We had a panic cos she was due to fly into Madrid airport and the news from there today is horrific. My thoughts go out to all those families missing loved ones.
We got the text to say she arrived there OK so that was a weight off our minds.
We went to visit grandma's grave at the weekend. The people who's relatives' grave backs onto grandmas' have planted a fern that has totally obliterated grandma's grave. We are gonna go back with tools and dig that fucker up. I don't care that it's not ours, it's going.

I was going to try and call you from the show, but it was so meffin' loud that my ears are still ringing and Fimmy said in her accent that "it would cost a forTUNE". I love that word now, forTUNE. Then, when the show was over it woulda been like 5 in the morning. I know you woulda been so sexcited for us, but I dont know how sexcited I would be if someone woke me up at 5 in the morning.
Anyways, just wanted to let you know that I thought about you and I'm missing you.

Hey, Miss T. Thank you for the comment you left at my blog, and I am glad you like to read what I write. I just write from the heart, and I know you do the same. It shows in your posts, which I love reading. You are a very sweet person, don't ever lose that.
I know your Dad still hears you, even if he can't tell you. It must be so hard not having him around. My Dad is getting older and I think about him and Mum more than ever. When I visit now, I try to ask more questions about their lives, about what they did in their youth, about their views on life, and I have been amazed at what I have heard. They are both such extrodinary people.
I found out a few months ago that my Dad used to work for the Forest Division, as a forest firefighter. He had so many stories, including one where they had a wind change and the fire jumped the fire line they had cut and roared after his entire brigade. It became a race for the river at that point, and all of them made it just in time except one, (there were 15 of them) and after the fire passed they went back to find what they thought would be his body.
Turns out he saw an old stump with a hole cut in the ground beneath and he got into the hole and covered himself with the stump. The fire moved over too fast to catch the stump on fire, so he survived with only mild smoke inhalation and burns.
I thought, "that could have been Dad!" when he told me over. He was lucky he was fast of foot!

I had the weekend off work, and was busy painting my bedroom and playing volleyball with friends! ^_^ You have no idea how sore I am, all over! My room is now blue/green, purple, pink and yellow. Going back to work today was kind of tough after a WHOLE weekend off! But, I'm glad to be back, because I was going stir-crazy!
School starts in less than a week, and I'm scared as FUCK. I got my schedule today, and I'm not liking it at all, so I made an appointment to get it changed.
George is missing you babe, I still need to get pictures of him around town. I feel horrible for not getting that done yet! I just feel horrible all around because I dont' feel like I've been a good friend to anyone from the blogs lately. Forgive me?
