Week 34

To the person who inspired this week to week blog. You know who you are. I would name you but I'm not sure if you'd want that.

THANK YOU.

I was directed to some words you left for me. I can only say right back attcha. I've kinda missed ya.

So, this week we had a lovely BBQ after work on Tuesday. It was in honour of our crazy little Spanish teacher who has sadly and tearfully left us to go do some research in France for a year. There were not many dry eyes in the house. We will miss her dearly.

We had a panic cos she was due to fly into Madrid airport and the news from there today is horrific. My thoughts go out to all those families missing loved ones.

We got the text to say she arrived there OK so that was a weight off our minds.

We went to visit grandma's grave at the weekend. The people who's relatives' grave backs onto grandmas' have planted a fern that has totally obliterated grandma's grave. We are gonna go back with tools and dig that fucker up. I don't care that it's not ours, it's going.

week 33

Sunday, me, my mum and my sis went to our friends house. She has no more family and never had kids. Her husband worked with my dad years ago, he thought of him as the son he never had. In fact, he got him together with my mum.

Well, he died the day after dad died. It was her 86th birthday so we went to her little party. There was only the four of us. We bought her a cake with candles and she cried. She said it was only the second one she had had in her whole life. The other was for her 50th.

We had a lovely time talking about the past. I guess me and my sis are the nearest thing she has to grandkids. And as my gran and nan are dead too, she is the nearest thing we have to a grandmother.

It was really nice. I love hearing her storys. She always gets the photos out and we really enjoy it. She is a sweetheart.

She moved near us in sheltered accommodation when her husband died. As she has no family, I feel it's as though her husband waited until we came more into her life before he died. It's as though he knew she would be looked after by us, so he knew he was safe to go. Funny how things work out.

Pics of Unicorn and SS pants

Week 32

Saturday I met up with Gnothi in Manchester. She is so pretty. RW told me she was and she wasn't kidding. She is so lovely too. Such a friendly person.

So, first we went to this lovely shop that sells all goth clothes. GS revealed her wonderful taste in boots and velvet jackets.

So, where shall we go to eat? Blimey, who would've thought that I'd suggest pizza hut. Oh yes we did. I have posted pics to prove that GS went to pizza hut with the pizza fiend and lived to tell the tale.

We went round the shops and found a lovely chain with a unicorn on. It had a pink horn and hooves. They didn't have purple but it was the next best thing. I shall post pics in another post. Yup PPU, we thought of you.

We thought of all of you and we talked about mayos. Unfortunately, we didn't see anything mayo like to picture.

We went into Primark and got carried away looking at the undies. We found some that said super hero on that just reminded us of SS so we both whipped out our camera. I wasn't bothered but GS felt obliged to explain that we were taking photos of pants for a reason to a little lady standing next to us. She was very sweet about it, bless her.

We went to starbucks and were rebels who had tea instead of coffee (and a lovely lemon fairy cake). GS treated me cos she is a sweetie.

Then it was time for GS to catch her train. I went to the toilets at Manchester station and was appalled to find it cost 30p to have a wee. It's bloody free in Sheffield. So, I stayed in there for ages faffing with my hair cos I wanted to get my money's worth ha ha ha!

20 mins later, my train came. Of course while I was waiting, I just had to text GS to tell her of the toilet atrocity.

I had the best time and GS is so nice. The pizza and cake was good too hee hee!
