Almost a new year is upon us

My god I can't tell you how many xmas goodies I got. I'll be eating them till this time next year.

I was a bad girl and ate a whole box of violet chocolates last night.

Just needed to get that off my chest hahah!

WOOHOOOOOOOOOOO!

I got tix for Most Haunted live.

That's all. Back to work now people and less chatting or I'll have to spank you.

Halloween!!!

Whitby was great. Really good weather for that time of year. People were out and about in their finery and no coats needed (except for me and sis of course as we're always cold).

It was really great to see people dressed up from the smallest kids to little old couples. The theme tends to be Victorian wear. Some people had even dressed up their babies. The atmosphere is amazing with everyone commenting on how good people look and stopping to take pics of strangers. Although there were a group of people who had shunned the goth look and decided to do Christmas early and had dressed as Santa? Hahahaha!

I had on my witches hat with purple hair attached. I would include a pic but I managed to blink or look down on the couple I took with me on them hahahah! I had on my black coat with purple skulls and crossbones all over it. My sister takes the piss and says this design is not goth, it's the pirate look hahaha!

After dark, we went on a ghost walk. Though the stories tended to be more history based than actually ghost related.

Anyway, the pics are of the ghost pumpkin my sis carved with a ghost on the front. She did took it to work Friday and we took it to Whitby. Once we got back to the car late Saturday night, the pumpkin was beginning to pong so we left it along with another carved as a cat, on the side of the car park. I'm sure it became seagull food quite quickly.

The other pics are of graves up near the Abbey and the view down near the bottom of the famous 199 steps.

RAT FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fingers crossed anyway. They hadn't touched the last lot of poison and the smell is on it's way out.

I hope this is the end of it. You don't wanna smell dead rats believe me, it's rank. If that is what a few dead rats smell like, I can't imagine how bad a human body must smell. *shivers*

URGH!

Got cold. Hate it.

Monday 5 October 2009

October

Still no news from the police, but I've not heard a no either. I'm sure one of the people I did the test first time with said he had to wait 6 weeks before he heard anything so I'm not worrying to much yet.

So, Rats!

The rat catcher couldn't see the bodies in the corner we suspected them. He said he'd known people rip all their kitchens out and still not found the bodies so it wasn't worth it.

As the smell is going and we've been lucky enough to have no flies, we are just leaving it. He put some more poison down as they'd had all the rest and he's coming back this Friday. If nothing is touched, we know they've all died and we've got no others.

Oh what fun and games.

I pinched this from my comment to Jennicula. Sorry girl but I felt I'd said it best to you and couldn't be arsed to explain it all again. A bit of C&P used here.

September #2

So, still no news from the police. I should try to be calm cos it has only been two weeks and we do have a postal strike on. But it does make you nervous every time the postman arrives.

Now, the latest is that bad neighbour has been quiet for over a week. That's a good thing. The bad thing is that whatever he's up to has disturbed his rats and I saw one in our kitchen last night. I saw his big brown bum vanish behind the cooker as I switched the light on. There were droppings under the table this morning. We haven't seen any before so we know they've only just got in.

I rang the environmental health today and they are coming tomorrow. They'd better get the things. Mum is freaking out big time. Now I can understand why people slap shrieking women. I'm resorting to the "I'm not talking to you when you are in this state woman" method.

September

Well, I'm back from London with the news that on my third and final try at the fitness test........................

I PASSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I actually found the beep test running OK and they had to call be back after I'd done it cos I kept on running. I found the pulling of the weights easy and pulled more than I needed to, but I have more difficulty with the pushing of the weights. But I got it on the nose of the criteria needed so I passed. What a relief.

Now I just have to wait while they check references and see if I get offered a start date.

Thanks to everyone who wished me luck. I have no doubt that it helped me no end.

August #2

Almost fully healed. Gym going well. Neighbour, I wish aliens would abduct him. He came home from the shop the other day with two carrier bags full of booze. As he got to the doorstep, he dropped the lot and most of the bottles smashed. Aw bless, my heart bleeds for him, not. He's been blasting his music for days. Please, oh please let the cosmic forces of nature make me win the lottery so I can move away.

Monday 3 August 2009

August

Bits are slowly on the mend. Thanks for all the well wishes, I won't be including any pics though hahahah!

So, the neighbour dispute. The other day, he climbed over his fence, over his neighbour's fence to get to the bloke who lives just a couple of doors down from him (what's wrong with using the street? Who knows how alcoholics think). When he got there, he threatened HIM about HIS music. Can you believe it???????? He told him he was getting the blame for his music. I almost choked when my nice neighbour told me that. The bloke himself came round to tell her what he'd done. He is sooooooooo deluded if he thinks there is anyone other than himself blasting music.

He now has a bright orange light glowing in his garden till the early hours. It looks like it's come out of a street lamp or one of those workmen's lamps you see on bollards. I wouldn't be surprised if he's nicked it.

Fun and games eh?

July #2

Well, it is that time of year again. The anniversary of Dad's death. I can't believe it's been 7 years already. I still forget he's gone. Just the other day I thought of something that I just had to tell him then realised that wasn't gonna happen.

We will be going to the coast this weekend to do the usual Dad day. This invloves going to the harbour where he loved to sit for hours and where we sprinkled some of his ashes. We buy some doughnuts cos he loved them. I don't like them so I throw mine to the seagulls. Then we sit and talk about dad. As we are at the coast, the memories always turn to happy holiday ones whish is good. I think if we stayed at home we'd just cry and not know what to do with ourselves.

Love you Dad.

July

YIPPEE

I did it. I managed to run the whole beep test on the garden in stifling heat. If I can keep this up for the next 7 weeks (that's how long till I have to do it again), surely I'll get it done this time.

And, I'm lifting more weights than I need to be able to do. Fingers crossed, I might pass it this time.

I've got to, It's my last chance.

Monday 22 June 2009

June #4

Overdid it at the gym the other day and pulled a muscle in my stomach. It's ok now though.

I'm currently absorbed in the world of F1. It's getting bitchy and I love it.

Not much else to say.

Monday 15 June 2009

June #3

I'm back from London and boo I didn't pass. I ran further than last time and I passed one of the weights tests. I pulled the weights no probs but I'm not good at pushing the same weight. I'm back in August for my last attempt, gulp.

I have downloaded a beep test and am just gonna practise passing that cos they told us that treadmill running etc at the gym would not be enough to pass, you gotta keep turning and hitting the line. I figure if I can get it right on the garden, I can get it right there. I'm not gonna be trying to get fit anymore, I am solely just gonna practise my weights and beep test. It's no good being fitter and still not passing it. I am gonna just direct my training at those two things. I don't care if I'm a big fat lump as long as I pass hahaha!

Monday 8 June 2009

June #2

Not much to report. Still off to the gym, still keeping my fingers crossed. I didn't go today though cos I've had a cold which was just awful last night, seriously, how can you hold so much snot in one head and I only have a small head.

While in the supermarket the other day, I proved to my sis by trying on the kiddies sun hats that my head is indeed the size of a 6 year olds'. She just stood there looking at me saying "I never doubted it for a minute".

If all this police thing falls apart, I've been told by my uncle's ex that they are paying people to take social worker exams. They are so short lately and it is something I've fancied doing. I'm quite excited at the opportunities out there at the mo.

Fingers crossed something will come right.

Monday 1 June 2009

June

So, not much happening at the mo except me going to the gym to prepare for the fitness test this month. I'm still not confident, my legs hate running. I don't get out of breathe but my legs don't like it. I suppose I can only try.

It has been very hard at the gym today as it's very hot now.

OK whinging over.

Wednesday 20 May 2009

May #4

It was mum's 60th birthday yesterday.

She had a great day. She got loads of pressies, cards, cake, flowers, wine and choccies. She has been forcing the choccies on me and sis and I am stuffed.

The neighbour put up a 60 today poster on the door. The flower delivery person came at a little after 7 in the morning and I think she could tell from the look on my face that I'm not a morning person.

She got to use her OAP bus pass for the first time and I have taken the piss so much I have run out of old people jokes.

I LOVE YOU MUM XXXXXXXX

Monday 18 May 2009

May #3

I'm back from London. Leg is very slowly on the mend. I went back to the gym today but stayed clear of the treadmill.

It went well with occupational health. I was in there for less than 10 mins. I went all the way to London for that. Anyway, I have a new date for my fitness test. Fingers crossed for that one.

Monday 11 May 2009

May #2

I'm feeling a lot better. I was at the doctors today and the nurse changed my dressing. It's not hurting as much but I'm still only able to walk tentatively. I am still having to keep it dry but it's stopped weeping it's at the very first stages of healing but damn it's taken a week and a half to get to this stage.

I have been on the phone to the appropriate people and will get another date for the fitness test. I am still off down to London on Weds till Sat (cos I'd booked my coach ticket thinking I'd be doing the test on Friday) as I have to see occupational health on Thursday and take my doctors note to them and have their nurses see me to see when I will be fit to re-do the test.

Wish me luck peeps.

Monday 4 May 2009

May

I'm such an idiot. I've had a gym accident which has put my last week and half of training out the window. I was there on Friday and I was on the treadmill. I was listening to my MP3 and merrily jogging along nicely. Then suddenly my MP3 was ripped away from me. I still don't know what happened. I didn't catch it on anything and it was firmly in place. It was ripped away with such force and it is a mystery what happened. Anyway, I was like WTF! and in the second it took me to whip my head round to see what had happened, I went flying. I was dragged along on the treadmill and it took all the skin off my wrist and a huge chunk is missing from my thigh. I'm in so much pain, it is like a super serious burn. I look like I've been attacked my a shark. I am bruised all over, my elbow is cut bad but healing fast luckily. I am in my pj's most of the time cos I can't really walk. It's very bad.

Anyway, If it doesn't look like I'm gonna be able to do the fitness test, I'll have to get a Dr's note. I'm sure they will let me postpone it. If only it would start to scab it'd be better. It's just an open weeping wound and I don't really know what to do for the best.

So, that's my woes.

Wednesday 29 April 2009

April #5

Today went well at the gym. I managed to push myself further than I have so far.

I'm still not hopeful of this fitness re-test though and am bricking it as the date gets nearer.

My fitness instructor has told me to ask if I can do my own warmups before hand as when they test you they have you go from 0-3 for the warm up. Then when you are still out of breath, they have you start from 0-5.4. My fitness instructor says that like being tested twice and it isn't necessary to get so out of breath for a warm up. They should restart up from 3-5.4 or not have do the running to start with.

Anyways, I can but ask.

Happy news!!!!!!

My best friend has just had her second child. A little boy that she is naming Dominic after my cousin which we lost tragically young. She has even given him the same middle name Dominic James. How sweet is that? She's not my best friend for no reason.

Just wanted to share that.

To my Uncle who has just found my blog, STOP SPYING hahaha!

When you walk through a storm
Keep your chin up high
And don't be afraid of the dark.
At he end of the storm
Is a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of a lark.

Walk on through the wind,
Walk on through the rain,
Tho' your dreams be tossed and blown.Walk on, walk on
With hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone,
You'll never walk alone.

Boobs are fine!

Woohoo.

Still small and sad but otherwise fine.

Monday 6 April 2009

April

Well done Jenson Button on a second Grand Prix win Whoop whoop. Come on though kimi, pull your socks up.

Anyways, boob update is that old bras have been chucked, other bras causing no problems, pain gone. I am gonna go to the doctors to get them man handled just to be sure.

That's all.

Monday 30 March 2009

March #6

Yayness, the F1 season is back upon us and it's so good seeing the smaller teams doing well. Far more exciting.

I'm wondering if I should go to the doctors. The other week I though my bras were a bit loose so I tightened up the straps. This was a few days after my period. I dunno about you but my boobs swell a little round period time and feel tender. After wearing the adjusted bras my boobs were aching bad. But one more than the other. I wondered if something was wrong so I had a feel about, although they advise you not to examine your boobs at period time cos of hormonal changes. I couldn't feel anything but if I dug down and pressed on hard I felt a little lump. It wasn't where it was hurting and I'm sure it was a nipple duct cos of where it was. Anyway, once my period was properly over, I couldn't feel anything when I examined myself.

I tried to adjust the bra straps to how they were but I can't have got them in the right place cos I still hurt after wearing them. I have binned them now as of yesterday. Other bras are not hurting me. It is period time again now and they have swollen and are sore, I don't worry when they both ache as that is what they normally do but this one boob is hurting more than the other again. It started after taking those bras off again.

I'm not gonna do any examining until my period is over. If other bras continue to not hurt I should be OK. I think that it's mainly that one cos everyone has one boob minutely smaller than the other and that is mine. I think cos I adjusted the straps and it is smaller, it was being pushed further out of position (I can't word this very good), and that this is making it more sore than the other. Either that or the wires have slipped out of position and digging in me.

It's not hurting in the same position every time so it's not like there's just one area of pain where something is obviously wrong.

I'm gonna start wearing different bras and see if the soreness goes away after this period. I will examine myself too but not till after my period. But if the pain goes away now I've binned the bras, I should be OK.

Surely, it can't be just a coincidence that I alter my bras and the very next day this pain starts. I just hope it is that or it's a trip to the doctors.

Urgh!

Went to the dentist today. I had to have a teeny tiny filling. The dentist said he was being pedantic about suggesting having it done. He should have kept his mouth shut then and saved me £45.

Oh well, it's all done now. And I didn't need an injection so I'm not talking like a drunk right now.

Thank you to everyone that gave me birthday wishes. I had a lovely time eating my pizza. Now I want some more *sulk*

Thursday 19 March 2009

Friday 20th.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

Pizza here I come.

Monday 16 March 2009

March #3

So, today I went for my gym induction. It's quite a nice little gym with a range of people there, though mostly older folks so that's good as I don't feel all nervous with the gorgeous toned fit people making me look crap.

The bloke set me going on most of the machines and each time he'd say "you ever been on one of these" to which my every reply was "nope". I thought he was gonna end up saying "you ever got off your arse ever before" to which the answer would have been "nope".

Actually, once I got on the machines he said that my heart rate was quite good. He said that I could go into the exercise class that was levelled at quite fit people already. I was gobsmacked. I mean, I walk most places so I'm fit like that but breaking a sweat isn't really my thing.

Anyway, the bloke promised me he could get me up to the level I'd need to pass my fitness test no probs.

We shall see.

Monday 9 March 2009

March #2

I've been to the doctors today and got my gym discount card. It means it'll only cost me £1 every time I go and it lasts for 12 weeks.

I have to wait for my induction first before I can start. And I can use this discount at the gym at my local pool which is fantastic as it will save me bus fare money to go to anywhere further afield.

It'll all good so far. Better get my running shoes out.

Monday 2 March 2009

March

So, I have just discovered that there is a gym at our local swimming baths which is really cool as it will save me a fortune in bus fare money to travel further afield.

I am off to the doctors on weds to see about gym discounts for people on benefits. I saw my benefits advisor last week and she told me the doctors deal with that.

I'm trying to jog whenever I pop out to the shops and stuff but like an idiot I've hurt my ankle.

Wish me luck with the exercise, I think I'm gonna need it.

On a daft note, I was shopping with mum in town last week and I saw something that made me howl with laughing (mostly at myself of course).

We were in the undies department and I was just walking round a pillar in the shop when I saw in front of me what I thought was a rack of bowler hats. I didn't stop to wonder what they would be doing there in the undies department.

I ran towards them eager to try one on and as I fully rounded the corner of this pillar and saw the second cup of the biggest pair of black bras I've ever seen, I almost collapsed laughing. Not a rack of bowler hats after all, just one HUGE cup of a pair of bras.

What a tit I am hahahahaha!

Wednesday 18 February 2009

February #3

I'm back from London and catching up on emails but won't really be online till tomorrow. I'm catching up on rest. I never sleep well in London cos I stay with my uncle and cousin and they snore like you wouldn't believe.

Anyway, I aced the medical but have to go back to redo the fitness test. I knew I would cos I've never done one of these bleep tests before. At least now, I know what I have to do and have weeks to practise. It's so hard trying to get the timing right when you've never done it before.

Anyway, at least I got all the medical and paperwork out of the way. Gonna check out the nearest gyms and do some jogging hahaha!

Saturday 14 February 2009

February #2

So, I leave for London in the morning. I am very nervous about this medical.

I have all my paperwork ready and I'm packed to go.

I had my ears syringed on Friday and everything sounds sooooooo loud, it's very weird.

Wish me luck.

Happy Valentines day everyone!

Monday 9 February 2009

February

So, the medical/fitness test is next Monday and I am nervous. I've gotta fill in loads of paperwork about past sick absence and references etc.

I've been to the docs today (1 hour waiting, 45 mins late)to get my BP checked (it's cool) and to get details of why I've been to see them in the past 3 years. It's all been medicine reviews for my tablets, nothing major. But who keeps a detailed record of every time they go to the docs? These forms are annoying. They want too much detail.

Anyway, I am sat with cotton wool in my ears so that the olive oil doesn't dribble out. I have to have it to soften up my ear wax for it to be syringed on Friday. They suggest you do this cos they'll be a hearing test with the medical.

To be honest, I need them doing cos after the three bouts of flu I've had in as many months, they are a bit waxed up.

I know, I know, yuck, yuck, too much detail.

So, I have my coach ticket booked and I'll be off on Sunday. I just hope it doesn't snow so much I can't make it.

Wish me luck please.

Thursday 29 January 2009

January #3

So, today the post came and I had an envelope from London. I thought "Hmmmmmm this looks like the one I got telling me I'd got an interview for the metropolitan police".

Yes, it was. It was telling me that I had been successful at interview and giving me a date for my medical/fitness test. Now I am bricking it.

Wish me luck as I once more head down to London in feb.

Thursday 15 January 2009

January #2

So, here I am again made up with a very bad cold. This is the third one is as many months. It is going backwards and forwards between me and mum. She has it again too. I think between us, we have kept the tissue, tablet and medicine industries going. There's no credit crunch for them I'll bet. I swear, this year, I am never leaving the house again cos every time I do, I get this cold.

Anyway, I did leave the house yesterday to go to Leeds for an interview to see if I was suitable for the CELTA teaching course. It went well and I should get my offer letter in the post any day now. I will have to see which months course I get allocated to.

It was a horrible trip cos I felt like shit and I had to go to Leeds. The first train never even stopped at my stop, it sailed straight past. I had to wait over 30 mins in the icy cold for the next one and of course, I was late. Luckily, I wasn't the only one. The people there were lovely and I'm glad I got it done, although today, I feel all the worse for it.

Soz to moan but I'm getting so fed up of this coughing. I feel like I will cough myself inside out one of these days.

Friday 2 January 2009

January

So, Tuesday I go down to London for the BIG interview. This is for the job of a police community support officer at the Metropolitan police. If I got this job, it would mean doing the big move to London but I have always wanted to live in London.

The interview is on the Weds and is scheduled for 4 hours (can you believe it). I went for the open day in December so I know what to expect. I won't be in blogland til this is done cos I have revising to do beforehand.

I will miss you all til I come back. Wish me luck cos I am nervous.

Neighbour news! Still not seen him or heard his doors go. There was music New Years Eve at 1am till 2am. Not like him to only do it an hour. No noise since then except the dog barking as though it has been left alone. Mum says she saw his landing light on this morning at just before 2am (she's got my flu and is being kept awake). We are now wondering if he has gone away and has some things on timers to make people think he's here and that maybe that noise on New Years eve was someone coming back to check on things before going again.

Just before crimbo, he was spotted in a suit, not like him at all. He only ever wears them for court appearances. I am wondering if he's inside cos he got done before crimbo for fiddling the leccy.

We shall see.
