I know I say this every time, but I can’t believe how grown up the girls have gotten.

Life really does speed by when you’re not looking!

It sounds like you are super busy. I hope you get some time this summer to do fun trips with the family.

We had our trip, and now I’m looking forward to a lot of nothing this summer. I’ll unplug for a bit and take a breather. Maybe even go play outside.

We saw two groundhog babies yesterday. Groundhogs are a nuisance, but the babies are pretty darn cute.

Be well my friend. J

Yes J, time does fly doesn't it. We are hoping to take a few trips this summer, I just hope we get some good weather. Just like you, the girls love the beach, so that's where we will be headed next.

Do you have any more trips planned? Will you get to dip your toes in the sea again?

Yeah, I have been super busy, can't believe my three years at Uni is almost over. Just one more essay to go and it's over. Gotta decide what to do with my life next.

Enjoy your unplugging xxxx

Hello there!

We kind of took time to breathe. We’re heading onto summer, and that’s the season of visitors. We’re booked for the next two weekends and had to turn down one group due to overlap. It’s strange. Maybe I’m old school, but when I go to visit someone and I’m staying at their place, I don’t bring friends with me. This seems to be a recurring issue with people coming to my house. Like I’m an Airbnb or something.

So we’ll hopefully get to relax again in 3 weeks? Sheesh, that seems a long way off.

I’m hoping to get to the beach again this summer, but just in case I don’t, I actually bought lounge chairs for the backyard so I can read a book under an umbrella. I feel like this summer is better planned in that respect. I hope you have a lovely time with the sand in your toes and ocean breeze in your hair.

Good luck with the essay! Let me know how you did.

Blimey Jenn, I wouldn't dare invite other friends along if I was staying with someone, seems a bit cheeky. I hope it's not too tiring (or annoying) for you and that you soon get your feet up in the garden. You've reminded me that we need new sun loungers.

I've finally got all my essays done, just waiting for results now. The last one I pulled an all nighter and submitted it at 5am. Kinda eager now to find out what I've ended up with, penultimate results are next Tuesday and the last one about 2-3 weeks after that, then I can put them into the grade calculator. Fingers crossed.

Enjoy spending time with your guests. I hope it's not too hectic xxx

Thank you MissT.

We did wind up burying Pye with the others in the backyard. My family has lived in this house since 1972, so there are a fair amount of kitties up there. Tatsu, Sushi, Jamoca, Cosmo, Snowflake, and now Pye. While Willie was digging the hole, we found Cosmo, so they’re together. I have a real pet cemetery in the back 40. When I mow the lawn I always say hi to the gang when I’m up there.

It’s amazing how much fur was all over the house. Not anymore. House is still too damn clean.

I might make a book for Pye. We took a lot of pictures of him. My mom put a picture in a frame for me and it’s on my dresser.

It’s so weird. I still hear him around the house. Willie doesn’t believe in all that “mumbo-jumbo” but even he has said he had heard Pye in the middle of the night and seems to see him out of the corner of his eye sometimes.

I remember when Yellers passed. These pets we love so much leave a hole in our hearts and it aches.

I just miss his little face and our conversations.

Yes, I talked to my cat because he was always starting something with me. Actually, he talked to everybody. He was a real chatterbox.

Thank you for your condolences. I know you understand. Some people just don’t - and I feel bad for them that they don’t love pets like we do.

Xxx

Hiya Jenn,

Once again, I'm so sorry for your loss. They are not just pets, they are our friends. I agree that it is sad when people don't feel that way, their loss. A book sounds lovely. I like your pet cemetery, I'm sure Pye is in good company. We also have a pet area, our was under the cherry tree which was cut down years ago, but the stump is still there. It is falling apart though so I think I'm going to have to move it, mum doesn't want another cherry tree planting cos they shed so many petals, but I'm thinking of getting a little plastic cherry tree to mark the area.

I'm sure you do still hear Pye, I still hear Yellers squawk every now and again. If you know what cockatiels sound like, it's not like any other bird and I know no-one around here has one.

I keep my Yellers book next to where I sit at my computer and I love looking at him proud as punch sitting on our back garden fence on the front cover, you should make one, it's worth it.

Take care and talk about Pye loads, he's part of a special gang now in your garden.

Good morning!

This summer hasn’t been too hot until last week where all of a sudden it was literally like a sauna. I think
it’s supposed to cool down next week.

While I’m a huge fan of laying in the sun and reading a book, I’m also a massive fan of the Autumn, and this year I’m ready for it.

The trees are starting to change colors, and it’s still 100 outside.

I love my nighttime nature. It’s so quiet and peaceful. I do like night lurking really in any season. I’m just a night owl.

This year our neighborhood gained a barn owl for the first time. That was pretty cool. Every now and then I hear a fox roaming around. I go inside when I hear them because their bark sounds awful and they have been known to carry rabies and they are a bit bitey.

Well, I hope you are well. Give the fam hugs from me!

Hiya Jenn, how are you doing?

Yeah, it's been super hot here this past week, almost like the weather didn't get the memo that it's autumn now.

The night time nature is great isn't it. I love looking out of the window and seeing the fox trot off down the street, I always wonder where it's going.

When it's sunny, you can often look up and see the big hawk that hangs around our neighbourhood.

It's interesting to see how the wildlife changes in the garden as the seasons change. It'll be the little robin red breasts soon.

Enjoy your autumn garden Jenn and hugs to you and yours too xxx
